Sorry I didn't complete the "mom drawing" for your birthday. I do plan to pick up those pencils...sometime....soon. My outlet right now is singing in the local community chorale. Yes, I know, I can have more than one outlet at a time. Anyway...
And Carol...thanks for being there as an attentive Mom in law.

Great story but I hate I wasn't there to keep those "beasts" off of you. I'm surprised your Dad didn't hunt them down and take care of them!!! Knowing Larry it had to be God that kept him from doing that. Perhaps he was tring to teach you to fight for your bike....but that many. To quote Makenna, "Awwwww come on, have you you lost your mind". Well at least you survived and are now the best son-in-law ever. I love your stories and can't wait to read the next one. And Susan.....I want a MOM drawing too! LOL!

Hey Mom,
Hope I didn't depress you. Use your sketch pad, it's never too late, and we all need an outlet. You've got way too beautiful scenery there in Ky. (you made it back) to waste. Now I know what i want for my birthday. A real life MOM drawing. :)

I remember this well! Picked up my colored pencils that your sister gave to me a few years ago. Plan to use them. I also have a sketch pad...unused.
I spent many days either in tears or in shock those first few years. However, I continue to miss those beautiful scenic mountains of the west.
I do not miss the Cholos. They speak of "respect", but have no concept of personal property or personal space.
Love you,
Susan (your mom)
